Littlewoods History
The first Littlewoods home shopping catalogue was published in 1932 by John Moores, the founder of Littlewoods Pools. Whilst todays bumper catalogue has over 1,000 pages, in 1932 it only had 168. The catalogues were run by agents, who collected orders and payments from relatives, friends and neighbours and in return they received a commission.

The Barclay brothers (Sir David and Sir Frederick) bought Littlwoods in 2002 and then in 2004 they bought the Great Universal Stores catalogue and others owned by GUS Plc. These are all now part of the Shop Direct Group and is the UK’s largest home shopping company.

Littlewoods Direct is "The home of big brands" (Trinny & Susannah campaign) and offers unbeatable value with a choice of over 40,000 products.
