Edward Michael ’Bear’ Grylls, is a karate black belt man who loves adventure.

During his three years with the British Special Air Service (SAS), a free-fall parachuting accident in Africa resulted in him breaking his back in three places. Undeterred during the months of rehabilitation he focused on his childhood dream of climing the world’s highest peak, Everest. After fighting his way back to recovery he achieved his dream just two years later and entered the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest Briton (aged only 23) to climb Mount Everest.

Prior to that achievement, Bear had already become the youngest Briton to climb Mount Ama Dablam in the Himalayas, a peak (22,500 feet) described by Sir Edmund Hillary as ’unclimbable’.

Since then he has since led many ground-breaking expeditions across the world. He is also a writer, a world class motivational speaker and television presenter. He is best known for his television series ’Man Vs Wild’ on Discovery Channel Worldwide and the Channel Four series entitled ’Born Survivor: Bear Grylls’ which have been shown in over 150 different countries and seen by over one billion people worldwide.

Bear’s tv series typically feature him being parachuted in to some of the most remote and inhospitable deserts, jungles and mountains on earth and he demonstartes what you need to do to survive.
